Presumably that was a free slot on Eurosport’s calendar??
Yep, the Masters has moved as well. I do wonder if Winmau's relationship with the BDO has been patched up since Sue was shoved aside...

True, a bit weird as I just cant see another venue being used at this late stage.

The question mark could be around sponsorship. I imagine if there is a sponsor lined up to partner Eurosport's 3 year deal then that couldn't be signed until the TV one was. Contracts may be swapping hands as we speak......
Maybe Bob's sponsorship offer is sat there as back up in case this multi event one is not signed.

I've just realised the World Trophy has been moved to my birthday next year - suppose I better suggest to the wife about a weekend away in Preston/Surrey/Bridlington/Barry/Manchester/Blackpool.......well, wherever it is next year.

Given Winmau have posted this news on their Twitter and Facebook pages suggests so. I’ve still not seen any factual evidence that they were ditching the BDO anyway...

Masters now fully clashes with a PDC darts event on ITV4 rather than partially with a PDC darts event on Sky. Bit of a schoolboy error...

that will be a fun weekend on here when we compare the events :)

although that will also mean comparing averages which I never do anyway and gets my goat big time

Given the Masters averages were far better in the later stages this year... :)

well maybe, but I leave the averages debate to other people as they generally mean Jack Shit in my experience

First rule of Lakeside, you don't talk about Lakeside!

That’s fine for a Fri-Sat event. Probably men’s last 32 on the Friday (8 in afternoon, 8 in evening), then all last 16 Sat with quarters/semis/final on Sun. Women’s last 16 Fri, quarters Sat and semis/final Sun.

Made up with this news. Good on Des and Paula. BDO finally has the stability it needs.

Sportotal coming through no thanks to Des.

They can put this on telly but it dont mean people will turn up.
The winmau masters and catas trophy had about a dozen people at each event.
Even if the bdo doubled or tripled that crowd it would still be pathetic
