BDO announce 3 year deal with Eurosport

I wonder what the stipulations are in this 3 year deal and what would be a breach?

We all know how bad the chairman can be with his posts which could come back to haunt him.
Also could it be dependent on viewing figures or crowd size.

If there are no additional sponsors, funding the prize money of these 9 events will more than exhaust the BDO finances.

Let's hope these are also on board.......

Will repeat my earlier point the prize fund particularly for Lakeside is way too high given current BDO finances. Okay this year because of player contracts they probably have to pay unchanged amounts from last year, but after this and for Masters and WDT they need to radically cut back the money. Something like £25k to winner at Lakeside and £10 to £15k at the other two.

If they change the prize fund I am 100% sure they will be honest with players and tell them before Q School closes for entries.

If I were Eurosport I'd do a segment called "Champions corner" and have Adams, Fordham and Hankey there as three of the BDO's most recognisable faces, adds gravitas.

Lots of interesting things still need to be confirmed once the dust settles. Paying for production, stage sets and prize money principally. Has Eurosport actually paid any money , how are Sportotal getting paid. What will the venues and crowds be like.
WDT only a 2 (3?) day event?

I have to say that its a major acheivement for the BDO given the current state of affairs and well done to Sportotal, des and whoever else may of been involved in getting it sorted. However lets not begin to pretend its better than what they had last year with terrestrial coverage on Channel 4, which was a downgrade on BBC coverage. Therefore the trend of going downwards gradually is still in place. As many have stated until the finances and sponsors involved are revealed then nobody can say wether its a good deal or not. I'm sure eurosport will have stuck some clauses in there if these events flop after year 1.
