Well three of the events dont exist anymore, so not really sure what he wants anyone to do about that. Fair point about the WDT points, mind. As for his moan about having to defend W and RU points next week.....erm thats how rankings work, mate. If you dont want to defend points, dont win them
The Bruges and Belfry Opens do exist, they're just on later in the year, but before the Lakeside cut-off. What is the usual thing to do when an event significantly changes its date - should the points from the previous edition stay on until the next event is played, assuming they're not in the same 'calendar' year?

Ah right, had it in my head they had been cancelled.

So if they are happening before the cutoff, just as the WDT is, then what is the issue? His only actual valid gripe is that he wont be able to defend his International Open points. He gets to defend all the others before any more cutoffs, they just vanish off his ranking for a few months first.

I'm just amazed Devo fell for it as well, tbf.
just reporting what Ross had posted. A few folk on there said fake news. Another said time to sort out the fancy dress.

The idiot.

The 2019 page for the WDT says its at Preston Guild Hall, they are merely placeholders with the last venue left in, that will be edited when the actual venue is announced.

https://mastercaller.com/tournaments/bd ... y-men/2019
Mastercaller is the most respected/informed darts journalist/pundit/commentator in the Netherlands. However I think the pages referred to are just set up automatically from 2019 to 2020 with (for the moment) the venue where the tournament took place last year.

Does anyone know when and where the qualifying tournament for Lakeside is? Will it be open for international players?

Not open to anyone outside England.

He’s doing it for his country!

There should be just one qualifier, open no matter what nationality you have. It is a big problem.

Has Jim made a mistake?

He's not defending a win and a final at Selsey (I think). He only got a 4 pointer and a 7 pointer at the June Selsey , he won and got to a final of the September Selsey?

Yes, he's mixed them up. Must be because it's the same location. Chance to gain some points back given his relatively poor results there last year.

He does have a point that just moving rather than shuffling some of the higher category tournaments is going to mess with rankings, but some of it comes down to form. Players in good form aren't going to complain so much about these things.

Also he gets to play in the moved events before any other cutoff anyway.

Sensible thing to do if an event is moved and not cancelled is delay removal of said points till postponed date of the event.
