It was proven conclusively that no players of the same nationality being drawn against each other, in repeated draws, for fields of over 1000 was perfectly normal. It is just as statistically likely (if not more likely) as two unspecified players being drawn against each other more than once in multiple draws for fields of 128.

Rout and IFM proved it using statistical probability theory, quadratic equations, a set of digital calipers, guesswork, and making it up as they went along.

Nothing to see here.

It was good fun watching them trying to defend it.
Bringing in the two nonentities from the PDC tour who got the same draw as some kind of conspiracy was the icing on the cake.

Is it definitely true that no men are paired up with another countryman in the Last 1024 before I post on the TSOD sponsored facebook page?

Well a lot of players are byed through to the Last 512 but yes, I cant see a single same country matchup in either round.

I assume the same is the same for the women.

There are a couple in the last 512 for the men
Most women in the last 1024 get a bye.

Either way, none of the initial matchups in the men have a same country pairing as far as I can see.

Correct, hence the reason I ignored it.
Looked at the Malta Open as well, however no nationalities are specified on the draw sheet.

I'm 'sure' it's not done on purpose (??) so there must be something in the software, just has to be, this just should not happen... The BDO really should look at it.

Not astronomical, but maybe 100:1. Would have to count the players from different countries.
