Probably the right course. Look at the names who got in the PDC one via the one year list, chocka full of youngsters. If you pitted Aspinall, Searle or Luke Humphries against either Newton or Hamilton now, it would be a bloodbath.Astonvilla wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:47 pm Both Hamilton and Newton should be aiming for the Challenge Tour and another shot at The BDO WC next year.
People like O'Shea know they wouldnt find it difficult getting in the PDC one now, even before Hankey had his "incident" at the Slam (believe what you want about what actually happened) he was nowhere near getting in the Worlds that year.

Really?? So if a premier league star moves down to play for a club in league two it degrades the EFL does it??

Just have to turn up for one day, I believe. Can lose 5-0 first game and be out the door within a few hours.DavidB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:51 pmAstonvilla wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:47 pm Both Hamilton and Newton should be aiming for the Challenge Tour and another shot at The BDO WC next year.

It doesn't degrade the efl because the efl is a step down the ladder in the football system.DavidB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:49 pmSkewball wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:48 pmThe competition. It reinforces what the comp has become

The point being made is that these players have re enforced the view/fact that this comp is on a lower level than the pdc wc.

Not seen Newton's or Hamiltons games but there is a reason they couldn't win a game in the PDC for 12 months and lost their tour cards....and their performances probably show why that happened.....they are both yesterday men..has beens I'm afraid to say..

The way they have both played they have no chance of getting a tour card anyway. There will be much better players who will come away after 4 days without one.

If you ever saw George Best play at the tail of his career like at Hibernian then woudl understand the point of the original posts

Well the serb won. Hogarth didn't seem happy about something. Walked straight off after handshake (are they still doing little Richard announcing their names before they exit?).
And a bit of whoaing, from the crowd, when on the winning foul!

when the BDO is still claiming to be the 'World Professional Championships' yes. (I will ignore the silly comparison)DavidB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:49 pmSkewball wrote: ↑Mon Jan 07, 2019 2:48 pmThe competition. It reinforces what the comp has become

But, it's OK, the BDO _should_ be a place where has-beens go, along with the don't-really-wannabes, never-will-bes, and the not-yet-and-probably-nevers. It's only the pretence that it's anything else that's been a problem for the past few years.

another pdc pro that couldnt handle the lakey stage - think of it as different flavours of ice cream - ally pally is easier to master - takes a certain type of playe to master lakey - some never do - like anderson and wade -

They don't just claim it, It is recognised by the official governing body as the worlds professional darts championship. Lakeside attracts a darts crowd because they know it is the real world championship while ally pally attracts people who aren't interested in darts and do not pay attention to what is happening on the stage and are there to get drunk and mess about.
