Van der Voort's view on female players at World Championship
Re: Van der Voort's view on female players at World Championship
His view is utter tosh really, one could say the same about North American or Asian qualifiers. Vinny has enough chances to qualify and if that doesn't work soon he'll be able to identify as a woman and enter the Women's ROW qualifier. The problem is he'd probably get beat.

It's deffo not the same as North American and Asian qualifiers. Male AND female players were eligable to enter these events, not separated.nikkiboy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 1:55 pm His view is utter tosh really, one could say the same about North American or Asian qualifiers. But the argument could be stretched to include that, the Asian players COULD gain entry via the OOM the same as the UK players, they COULD get in via the Challenge tour etc. but the quality of the Asian qualifiers in years past has been far below that of European players who never made it to the WCs. The argument can be made that they have an extra tier of qualification simply because they are Asian, same as the ladies.PVDarts501 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 2:12 pmIt's deffo not the same as North American and Asian qualifiers. The difference would be that there are PDC tours there trying to develop the game, but the PDC isn't doing anything else for the women's game beyond the qualifying spots. However, they could at least point to there being more opportunities for the women's game in the BDO that allows the top women playing time and money.nikkiboy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 11, 2018 2:24 pmBut the argument could be stretched to include that, the Asian players COULD gain entry via the OOM the same as the UK players, they COULD get in via the Challenge tour etc. but the quality of the Asian qualifiers in years past has been far below that of European players who never made it to the WCs. No different to previously inviting the winner of a soft tip ranking event (or tour) - Bazza knows what he's doing!
