Alcohol during a game

Could anyone confirm that the PDC players are allowed to drink alcohol during the "TV breaks" - someone claimed in another forum that they were not drinking anymore and that it was "illegal"

I have it on good authority that coke is consumed.
(other soft drinks are available)

Rules on Alcohol, see DRA 5.19.
Reads to me that it's not allowed during a broadcast match, and can be banned at other times if the host or sponsor decides.

Only the designated playing area is drink free, everywhere else is exempt........

No, no, no. "Eveyone" plays PDC darts. Nobody plays BDO or playa no darts at all.

Mason said on talk sport that the development tour was alcohol free.
Both he and Nicholson said the past must not be forgotten but it is time for darts to move away from the bullseye generation, away from being a pub game.
also Mason said he regrets the influence thevdrinkingvsndvsmok I ingredients atmosphere had on him as a younger guy (health wise).

Darts will always be a pub game, I have no issue with players drinking backstage.
