Shaping up nicely.

Long way still to go before cut off, and I say this every year, but this year could be the highest quality unseeded players yet.

Note for contributors: Phil has used the word "hope". He isnt saying he will make it, it is just a wish that he does.

Thanks.

It does, given he has been in the Top 3 for so long.

But with his OOM money for winning the 2017 UK Open coming off, his position of 6th is probably a fair reflection of his recent form.

For me, still one of the Top 4 players in the World, but unless he stops fucking about with his darts, will drop even further.

Gone are the days of Wes Newton's brother, Dale making up the numbers.

In what respect?

I know he’s been number 2/3 for so long but he’s been poor for over a year, will he ever get back as high or continue to slide is the question??

No, it's looking like the changing of his equipment all the time has ruined any momentum he's had. Add in the fact that he's getting on a bit, and is starting to skip the odd event here and there and it's a recipe for falling further down the rankings. I'm not foreseeing his immediate doom though, I reckon he'll settle around 8-10 before declining further as he enters his 50s

The conspiracy theorist in me seems to tie Wrights loss in form to the warning of beta blocker abuse put out. :IIII:

Remember Dale playing in the UK open but doubt he ever played in the Matchplay

This is the data Dan Dawson and Chris Murphy are discussing on the PDC TV stream.
