Not many north east Riley’s left. The 2 that were close to me have both turned into independent pool halls and only one of them has darts in anymore

Read the link.
Anyone without a Tour Card can go the amateur route including failed Q School entrants.

I did, hence why I asked if it was a new thing?

Im sure last year those who played q-school and did not get a tour card or qualified for the UK open were allowed to play the Rileys qualifiers

You do realise that Riley's are a sponsor of this comp and therefore that's where the amateur qualifiers are held.

And you do realise that there are no Riley's venues still open in Wales and therefore to have a qualifier in Wales is actually impossible, don't you?

Oh, wait. It's Nikki.

Oche, can you explain this to him as you speak fluent dipshit?

We have this argument with him every year. We also tell him that a lot of the English locations would probably still be more convenient for much of Wales even if you stuck one token event in Wales....

Oh that's ok then, let's hope that next year it's sponsored by the lerwick and Douglas fishing club and they hold all the qualifiers in Shetland and the Isle of Man, but hey no-one can complain because they're the sponsors right?

I heard that a darts team in Connah's Quay were gutted there isn't one in Wales, given there is that forcefield in place that stops them travelling 6 miles over the border to Chester to play in one.

They would much rather have gone to one in Cardiff instead....

Oh dear
Ginge has prodded Nikki and sparked his annual Rileys related meltdown quite beautifully.

Could they not at least have put one at the Riley's in Bristol?
