Is this the first year the pairs has been streamed? Surely there is your answer.ChrisW wrote:So why is PDC players playing in the Dutch Open pairs suddenly a threat to the PDC.
This has happened in the past. No permission required just play.
OK it's on at the same time as the Masters but surely it is not a threat to that?

I think what you mean Chris is the pairs final has always been streamed or on tv but the earlier rounds have never been available to watch on a stream which is presumably the case this year (unless only singles events are being streamed on the Fri/Sat??)

The men's pairs finals is normally streamed. Like the men's final was in Romania. I hope this ruling is not gambling on whether players make the final or not.DavidB wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 11:21 pmChrisW wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 9:48 pmNo they have always streamed the pairs.Ginge wrote: ↑Mon Jan 28, 2019 9:45 pmIs this the first year the pairs has been streamed? I feel it is a shame but so be it.
Long gone are the days of seeing Taylor and Adams lift the pairs title.

This PDF went on the website on the 26th.

Two things:
1) putting McGeeney as the number 1 seed is the height of optimism. Surely they aren't going to do a draw and then watch the seeding all get cocked up when he doesn't show up?
2) someone remind me what his first name is please?

Well they are clearly idiots then for putting him in. Although McGeeney probably should have told them he wasn't going.

He could be the one. We will find out on Friday or Feb 9.
I quote the most darts friendly newspaper....
However, McGeeney went to PDC Q School and won a Tour Card, which would prohibit him from playing in any live streamed BDO events if he intends to take up the Tour Card.

In Dutch but gives a great impression of the set-up in Assen.
