Yes true but I'm assuming it would be steel tip because that was the format of the comp she just won. You wouldn't compare union to league would you?

Have you been to Japan?
There's a darts bar in every street.

In another era she'd have provided 90% of Fitz's gag material for the tournament.

They've had darts for a long time in Japan. This hangs on the wall by my dartboard, a steeltip tournament I attended in Osaka in 1988. Was a pretty good setup and quite a few players.
In the list of sponsors at the bottom is The Pig and Whistle, the pub where we played (event was elsewhere).
Looks like The Pig and Whistle is still there in Osaka and still has some boards up!

I wish but no! Not sure what the "1st" at the bottom of the poster is for, maybe the printing company? Could also refer to the round I lost in
Would love to have won something, the prizes were like piles of pirate booty, bottles of whiskey, wine and beer, watches and jewelry, electronic devices, I seem to recall there was cash as well but they had lots of items I assume donated by sponsors. Or maybe cash prizes weren't allowed, can't remember. But I do remember those glittering piles of treasure for the various events! They had a section of the room closed off with partitions, later in the day they opened them up, it was like Ali Baba's cave  tables covered with several piles of gifts for each event!

No, no pros. It might have been a big deal in Osaka, but probably not so much elsewhere. It was fun though.

Very true if you check back you will see that Bristol , at the time, won the biggest ever cash prize darts tournament in Japan back in the 80's.
If you also consider that back then the American scene was vibrant as well and both markets have effectively withered the question should be will her win rekindle interest in steel tip darts.
