An excitable Paul Nicholson was waxing lyrical about Suzuki after her win and said 'Take the Darts Trophy to Japan, Why Not?"
So Paul Nicholson is the "expert" in question?
Must be him or Adams as they were the only 2 on stage I think. Adams had a perplexed look on his face. :)

14k watching her game on Youtube and that was a worldwide figure. Someone remind me what the population of Japan is?

No TV outside of these places. I watched most of the afternoon sessions on the YT stream, there was was usually anywhere between 3-8k watching at a time (with Suzuki's games being towards the higher end of this), though I can't remember off the top of my head how many were watching her final. It's fairly consistent with any streamed event with Japanese interest, there's a noticeable rise in viewers, but nothing spectacular

It was only available in Japan via You Tube.
I heard there was 14,000 viewers on you tube during that (or another Suzuki match)
I don't remember the final figures off the top of my head, but none of the figures from the afternoon sessions before that reached that

So then...it wasnt on telly in Japan, and there were probably 10k (as an absolute max) watching it in Japan on YouTube at the time.

And this all means there will now be a darts boom in Japan.

I must admit, this is very bizarre logic.

I didn't see it to be honest only read someone said the highest number of viewers was achieved during the Suzuki match and that it was a lot more than during any other match.

If it wasn't for social media the people of Japan would never have heard about Naomi Osaka's US Open victory.
