From an outsider's perspective I can tell you that Dave is actually reasonably well known in darting circles, just not for any sort of darting talent whatsoever. He's this mythical entity a lot of people scour online to check up on and laugh at, a bit like Lee Hayes but I'd have the Scorpion down to beat him at a canter on the dartboard.

The best thing he can be described as is that crazy and clearly challenged person in town everyone knows. Ours is known as 'Pigeon Man', and can constantly be seen around town with a trolley full of bread, feeding the pigeons.

He's darts' answer to Beetlejuice. Say his name 3 times at a darts comp and he will appear. Unless it's Q-School.

Lee Hayes is probably more famous due to his various main stream press appearances for various misdemeanours DBG is just famous in his own bedroom, darts forum land and places or organisations he is 'banned' from.

I am not sure DBG even plays darts as in around the 10 or so years his persona has existed the only confirmed game and result anyone knows of or is aware of is his drubbing at the hands of Kong.
