Hi,

Just wondering if anyone else read Ned Boulting's book Heart of Dartness?

I thought it was a decent read, particularly the catchups with characters like Lazarenko that we don't hear too much about.

However some chapters didn't have much meat to them, the chapter about Dick Allix seemed to end prematurely without too much insights from him

What other books would people recommend?

My favourites are:
Planet Darts: Booze and Bull's-eyes - Life on the Professional Darts Circuit
The Crafty Cockney: Eric Bristow: The Autobiography
Bellies and Bullseyes from Sid Waddell
The Power: My Autobiography

Planet Darts: Booze and Bull's-eyes is without doubt the best I've read

Best book I've read on darts was Arjan van der Giessen's '20 jaar dartsgekte' (20 year's of darts frenzy?? still not sure how this best translates)

Waddell's book is very good.

Also Jamie Caven's book was a good read.

Lowe and George autobiographies a great read.
Fordhams ok.
Read Cavens and promptly gave it to a charity shop.
Justin Irwins book boring.
Bristows book excellent.
Waddells book the best by miles.

What was mardle's book like if anyone has read it? Is it worth a read? I do like a good book

It was ok.
Quite pricey now if you buy off Amazon.
I would read it again.

It was ok.

A 'shallow' read. Very basic

Could be. Anyway I hope it gets translated (the book) one day. It is a huge insight into BDO and PDC from someone who was around at the exciting times.

Ian Huntley was a bloody good caretaker as well, by all accounts.

Just started reading Justin Irwin's book last night. I don't find it boring at all, in fact some of it is hilarious if you like black comedy

His knowledge of darts and the culture was so poor starting off, didn't know how to turn a board or had never even played on a pub team. Unbelievable really but interesting. He comes across well

I thought it was one of the worst books Ive ever read.

To save anyone reading it the whole book is "I thought darts was a stupid sport that anyone can become a pro of within a year. Turns out I was wrong"
