Lauby v Brown
Lowe v Andy Hamilton
Murray v Newell
Blades v Collins

Not too exciting.

Leitinger's started well against Kleermaker. 2-0 up, plus the darts, starting with 2 15-darters.
... and Kleermaker broke back with a 13-darter, then held in 15 for 2-2.

I've been a member of multiple facebook groups over the years and have never seen one where so many bite on so many obvious troll posts.

It's quite glorious.

Kleermaker loses. Had 3 from 74 to break and win.

And Leitinger won. Kleermaker couldn't take out 74, was left on 10, Leitinger taking out 56 with his 18th dart.

Guessing he went T18, inside D10. Miss D5.

So 2 at double for a card. Should handily wrap a card up though regardless.

Fair play if anyone picked Harald Leitinger in the prediction competition.

Williams won the bull and the first leg in 18 darts with McKinstry having been unable to take out 81 with 6 darts.
McKinstry going crazy with his scoring again in leg 2. 86 after 9 darts, and took 7 darts from there.

Cruel draw for both of them. Q School really needs some kind of seeding.
No it doesn't.
Leaving aside the nightmare of how you'd actually go about seeding it, it is by it's very nature supposed to be cut-throat.
The PDC seeds all but one event (UK Open) they have. They obviously don't want it to the cut-throat.
Some of the qualifiers have rankings on:
PDC OOM
PDC Challenge Tour OOM
BDO rankings
WDF rankings if they wanted to as well.

If it were winner takes all (e.g. Women's PDC World Championship qualifiers), it wouldn't be such a problem because theoretically the best player will win.
But with multiple winners each day and more people qualifying through a table, the random draw increases the negative impact of luck.
We'll have to agree to disagree on this.
Firstly, I can't see any fair way of seeding this when you've got players coming who've spent the last 12 months playing in completely different competitions and under different organisations. If you can come up with a fair way of seeding it, fair play to you.
If the seedings are therefore arbitrary, and not based upon a meritocracy, then what's the point of having them?

Yes, with a blind draw you'll see your fair share of "unlucky" draws, but in my opinion that's preferable to stacking the deck with a seeding system which isn't fit for purpose.

You forget one crucial thing, that there are 2 x Q Schools and one doesn’t have as many players nor the talent. It should be one school for everyone if you want a fair open draw. So yes perhaps seeding isn’t the way to go but it should be looked at to try and improve it...

A question for the stattos...

In the history of Q School, has a loser of a ‘tour card match’ (ie: the final match to win a card) ever not qualified through the OoM (not counting if they did win an outright card during the remaining days) ?

How can you improve it if you dont seed it?

Increasing the format and it takes ages.
Shorten the format and you get more freal results.
Make it a group stage and it will take all night.

As for the answer to the last question: no idea. Will take a look. Guessing at worst it will have happened once on countback.
