Re: Players Championship Tour 2019
Great result for Durrant today. Averaged 101.11 over 7 matches. Exceptional by any standards. Now the official PDC no. 74.

Re: Players Championship Tour 2019
Well, Price said a week or two ago that he wanted to play well in the early floor events, rather than being negatively affected by Premier League, and he played well (98.31, 93.63, 106.38, 98.23, 105.16, 103.36). Durrant played so well there wasn't too much he could have done, and it's just a floor event, so he's probably not going to be gutted about losing. They clearly both checked the averages after the game because they knew it'd been a high standard.Zapp Brannigan wrote: ↑Sun Feb 17, 2019 6:20 pm Played amazing in the semi and final. Probably the best I’ve ever seen him perform.
Good to see price not acting up as well, seemed genuinely pleased to see duzza beat him and make the final.
That semi is worth a watch if anyone missed it
Another achievement from Durrant in his tournament win: he won the bull to start every game.
World Number 74 Glen Durrant's average in his 16 Players Championship games is 97.75. That's the 7th highest.
He's beaten:
3 Peter Wright
7 Gerwyn Price
8 Mensur Suljovic
14 Joe Cullen
14 Joe Cullen
20 John Henderson
27 Jamie Lewis
33 Dimitri Van den Bergh
40 Robert Thornton
60 Zoran Lerchbacher
79 Bradley Brooks
107= Ritchie Edhouse
125= Madars Razma
He lost to :
11 Dave Chisnall
65 Alan Tabern
75 Luke Woodhouse
So he's been lucky in that he's only had to play 2 of the players with higher averages (Price 4th and Wright 6th), and none of the best 3. But still, he played well in his wins against Price (especially) and Wright as well as against lesser opponents, and if he can continue to play at that standard he's going to be very successful in the PDC. Durrant clearly has a strong work ethic, and I'm very interested to see how he'll handle being a full-time professional (officially March 21st according to his post-Premier League interview).

BDO champ smashes the shit out of the so called Professionals...
Fresh from the hugely under estimated BDO, dart player Glen Durrant schooled the delicate flowers of the PDC cruising to an easy victory in the latest pro tour held at Wigan. Without even breaking into a sweat Glen completely outclassed The angry Welshman, he averaged 109.3 in a 7-3 victory over Gerwyn Price, Price averaged 103.4 himself. Duzza had winning legs of 14, 13, 13, 13, 12, 15 and 15 with a 128 checkout to win the match which booked his place in the final. Glen's time spent in the BDO had hardened him up making him a complete dart player and he was impervious to the school boy antics that many PDC players adopt to win matches because of their lack of talent or self confidence.

No one sees it like that Ninge, the BDO have taken much criticism over their "2nd division" players that one of their better players had to join up to prove the plastic darts cliterati wrong........
