What would be the point of just entering the early events though? It's not as if playing in the Premier League was ever contingent on him actually playing the tour, and there'd be no guarantee that he'd actually win enough money to get anywhere. Besides, it gets easier for him once the Premier League is over as he doesn't need to be travelling all over the place every week.

If he is assured of qualifying for the Worlds, I can see him sacking off the tour around the Matchplay/Grand Prix cut-offs though. Early days yet, but he's a long way adrift of Blackpool at the moment

Utter shambles from the PDC here. As much as I love the PDC it clearly has some admin issues. If this was the BDO there would be lots of comments about. The PDC gets a free pass.
