It's a bit random for the opponents, but It's a competitive exhibition, so no real harm done.

I think it's a good choice. Gives other players a chance to play "locally" so it's not a big strain for them.

They could do the same next year with the wildcard spot they gave to van Barneveld this year.

just proving the point its a glorified exhibition and to think some people think it should count towards the rankings.
