Jeffrey de Zwaan, William O'Connor, Jamie Hughes and John Henderson enjoyed a European Tour qualifying double on Friday as they secured places in the European Darts Matchplay and International Darts Open.

The European Tour Card Holders Qualifier in Hildesheim saw six places on offer in each of September's tournaments.

Dutch ace De Zwaan progressed to play in both tournaments with some fine darts, including a 102 average in his decider against Jose De Sousa as he secured a spot in Mannheim and defeats of fellow countrymen Mike van Duivenbode and Niels Zonneveld in qualifying for the Riesa event.

World Cup finalist O'Connor landed a huge 110 average in one win on Friday - a whitewash of Conan Whitehead - as the Irishman secured his place in both events.

Czech Darts Open winner Hughes posted three ton-plus averages in his four matches on the day as he also qualified for both events alongside Scottish ace Henderson, who was taken to an 11th leg by Matt Clark and Scott Taylor in his respective deciders.

Max Hopp overcame Raymond van Barneveld as he qualified for the European Darts Matchplay, with recent German Darts Masters finalist Gabriel Clemens also set to compete in Mannheim.

Belgium's Kim Huybrechts impressed with wins over Rowby-John Rodriguez, Vincent van der Voort and Martin Schindler as he qualified.

Dirk van Duijvenbode and Maik Kuivenhoven came through 11-leg battles in their deciders against Jermaine Wattimena and Danny Noppert respectively.

Noppert bounced back to qualify for the International Darts Open, seeing off De Sousa in their decider, while Jelle Klaasen overcame Huybrechts 6-5 to seal his place in Reisa.

Benito van de Pas will make his first European Tour appearance since April 2018 after defeating Hopp 6-4 in their decider to claim a spot in the International Darts Open.

World Youth Champion Dimitri Van den Bergh edged out Cristo Reyes to claim a spot in the event alongside fellow Belgian Davy Van Baelen, who will make his European Tour debut in Riesa.

Last weekend's World Matchplay finalist Michael Smith headlined the UK Qualifiers for the European Darts Matchplay as he progressed past Jamie Lewis and Luke Humphries.

Former European Tour event winners Simon Whitlock and Robert Thornton also qualified, alongside Premier League Contender Steve Lennon and World Championship quarter-finalist Ryan Joyce.

Luke Woodhouse secured his place in the International Darts Open with a huge 108 average against Mark Wilson, while former European Tour winner Justin Pipe also averaged over 100 as he booked his Riesa place.

Australia's Kyle Anderson, former World Youth Champion Arron Monk and former Players Championship winners Harry Ward, Mickey Mansell and Joe Murnan also qualified for the International Darts Open.

The action in Hildesheim continues on Saturday and Sunday with a pair of Players Championship events, each featuring a £75,000 prize fund. Live coverage from two boards simultaneously will be streamed through video.pdc.tv for all subscribers worldwide.

See full results from each event in our Match Centre at this link.

Match stats can be seen through DartConnect at this link.

The European Darts Matchplay will be held from September 6-8 at the Maimarkthalle in Mannheim.

The International Darts Open will be held from September 13-15 at the SachsenArena in Riesa.

No mention in the article for Brett Claydon, who qualified for both ET11 and ET12, with wins over Bunting (who played absolute crap) and Stevenson, then West and Burness. He's just got himself 2 grand less the cost of a couple of weekends in Germany.

The battle for places in the 2019 Unibet European Championship will conclude over the next five weeks with the remaining European Tour events in Austria, Germany and Gibraltar.

The European Championship will be held from October 24-27 at the Lokhalle in Goettingen, Germany - where the top 32 players from the final 2019 European Tour Order of Merit do battle for the £120,000 top prize.

Michael van Gerwen currently tops the European Tour Order of Merit with £115,000 already claimed in the nine events held so far this year, having won four of the opening five events in 2019.

Two-time event winner Ian White has claimed £81,000 and sits in second spot, ahead of the other three tournament winners, Daryl Gurney, Dave Chisnall and Jamie Hughes.

However, with four events to come over the next month - beginning this weekend with the Austrian Darts Championship - places in the 32-player field can still be snatched.

Kyle Anderson and Stephen Bunting will meet on Friday in a mouth-watering first round tie at the Austrian Darts Championship as the European Tour returns to action in Vienna.

The tenth £140,000 European Tour event of the year will take place from August 30-September 1 at the Multiversum Schwechat in Vienna, as 48 players compete across the weekend.

Friday's first round features the 32 qualifiers as they compete across two sessions to secure places in Saturday's second round alongside the 16 seeded players.

Australian ace Anderson and former Lakeside Champion Bunting will clash in Friday's highest-profile contest - with the winner progressing to play World Champion Michael van Gerwen.

Czech Darts Open winner Jamie Hughes opens his bid to win back-to-back European Tour titles against World Championship quarter-finalist Luke Humphries.

Former Austrian Darts Open winners Justin Pipe and Vincent van der Voort clash in another high-profile first round tie, while home favourite Rowby-John Rodriguez plays Josh Payne in a meeting of two World Youth Championship finalists.

Double World Youth Champion Dimitri Van den Bergh plays Mark Webster, while two 2019 Players Championship winners - Ireland's William O'Connor and Northern Ireland's Brendan Dolan - also face off.

UK Open quarter-finalist Ross Smith plays Czech debutant Adam Gawlas, Dutch World Cup ace Jermaine Wattimena meets German youngster Christian Bunse and James Wilson will take on Gavin Carlin.

The withdrawal of Australia's Corey Cadby meant that a fifth place was available in the Host Nation Qualifier on Thursday night.

Youngster Rusty-Jake Rodriguez joined elder brother Rowby-John Rodriguez in qualifying, alongside former World Championship qualifiers Hannes Schnier and Dietmar Burger.

Alex Steinbauer secured his place in a second European Tour event, while Christian Goedl will make his debut at this level.

Belgium's Mike De Decker and German left-hander Kevin Munch were the two players to win through the West & South Europe Qualifier.

The Austrian Darts Championship will be broadcast through PDCTV-HD at video.pdc.tv for all subscribers worldwide, as well as through a series of bookmakers' websites.
