Not again
“Deluxe have put together a seriously good team behind this , who are used to events at the very top of British and international sports.
They are certainly not muppets and must truly believe the BDO is marketable”

No the reformed version wasn’t hence why it was only held for one year. Like I have already said back in the day when it was the only darts on TV yes of course it was a prestigious event. It only ran for one year when they brought it back as their wasn’t the appetite for it.

Anyway once again people are completely missing the point it was about Whites ranking why does an unranked tv event from over 20 years have any relevance to that?

People don’t seem to like to actually read the points made on this site.

Fair play to White for winning that. Wright blew it though should have won it the leg before.

White moves into 10th in the OOM with that win despite never making a tv semi final.
Euro events are on TV, aren't they? Just not in the UK.
No.
By a quirk of fate, apparently they are on TV in the Czech Republic and Slovakia on a channel called Arena Sports. Only been the past three, so I bet there's something dodgy going on!

Whilst he hasn't made any semi-finals, he's made the quarters of all but two of the PDC's tv events (The Masters and the GSOD).

I think criticism of his TV/Stage ability is vastly over-stated.

His historical TV ability has been ok, however recently he has struggled and his performances unlike his rankings are getting worse rather than better.

Think Ian White is a good player, but he is having issues in closing out TV matches. Psychological, rather than ability led.

The point is that somebody who hasn’t even got past the last 16 of any ranked TV event in the last 2 years shouldn’t be able to climb that high up the OOM.

I like White he comes across as a top bloke and like I have already said it will be interesting to see if his consistency on the ET this year can be taken to the TV events. He or anybody else however should not be able to get that far up the rankings without preforming well in the ranked TV events. I have suggested before how I would change the PDC OOM so that it was more reflective of who actually preforms in the big events. With the increased prize money in the TV majors this year hopefully this will somewhat rebalance the OOM more towards tv performers but we shall have to wait and see.

For ET8, Durrant beat Owen in the board final, and that effectively moved him above Owen to 69th in the OOM. Next target is Matthew Edgar. With the 2k guaranteed here Durrant is on 37k, 5k behind Edgar (2018) on 42k. 64th is currently 57.5k.

Of course he beat Hughes to qualify for ET7 even though Hughes had a better average.

Beaton, Smith, Anderson, Aspinall, Durrant, Harrington, Joyce, King, O'Connor, Woodhouse all double-qualifiers.
Beaton keeps up his perfect record.

In ET7, Klaasen has played two good games to reach his board final, and is 1-0 up against Hopp. Can he break his duck?

Hughes had six darts at 16 to go 3-1 up but went to pieces. For some weird reason the bookies have Cadby joint 8th in the markets level with or ahead of Durrant, should make his opponents good value this weekend.
