Did you switch off early?
No mate, just really enjoyed it. It's clear that Uncle Des has got his head switched on.

Can he buck the trend and do something with the tools at his disposal?
Not with his hands tied by this Sportotal nonsense I’ll wager. I’ll reserve judgement for when he has no restraints and can do whatever the board want.

I haven't listened to it but it would have to be the National Darts Association of Great Britain (NDAGB)

Interesting little read here from one of the guys involve din it who also was behind the 'rival' inter cities matchups of the late 70's

Read the thread on real fanatics. Interesting stuff to be honest. But once again it's a win win situation for des. Someone else's fault it fails, his 'skills' if it succeeds.
But reading that it does look like he has inherited one massive mess.

I know Des did say he was in talks with investors (not defo got them) but he did say this (from the post a few pages back):

"I have already negotiated several great venues to replace existing ones along with new competitions with high incentive sponsorship."

So questions for folks is: where are the venues, new competitions and new sponsorship for these? Are they on hold or fallen by the wayside?

Not looked elsewhere but getting the feeling that Des can’t do anything, despite promising it, because Of the deal with Sportotal

Surely he knew about this ffs, the BDO publicised the deal and we even know on here that things have to go through them, did he not do any due diligence before spouting a load of crap in a manifesto?

This is not a valid excuse, should have been disclosed or made clear before he took the position.
wasn't he on the board before becoming chairman?

Whilst there's no excuse for him not knowing, I'd be interested to know exactly what he did know about Sportotal, and when.
I saw Pauly was playing the old "numerous contractual breaches which Sportotal could easily take the BDO to court for, if they were so inclined" card on Fanatics yesterday.
As he's clearly now an official Des mouthpiece, this is obviously going to form the basis of the next blame shifting exercise.
So it would be interesting to know if Auntie Sue covered her tracks regarding these breaches (and how well she did so) before scarpering. I'll be honest, I've long since forgotten the full chronology of this pantomime, and can't remember exactly when the rumours of these contract breaches first surfaced.

Is it possible Des knew of Sportotal's involvement, but not how badly Sue had handled everything? (I agree as a board member he should have known, but that's a different argument).
Did he just think he would come in, hand out a few slaps, and Sportotal would go quietly away? Only for Sportotal to turn round, hand him a list of the things they could sue the BDO for, and politely inform him they're in it for the long haul whether he likes it or not.

Just listened to that bit now. People sending the question in via text, cant think why they had to do that when he was ignoring players via email. Can hardly ignore them when lumbered with the question live on radio, clearly made him squirm. "Can I say no comment?" :DDD: :WWWW:

And who chose song number 13 on the tracklist?
