If its that low you are hardly committed to coming back to get your moneys worth.
So better to have empty sessions in empty halls with no bar sales? Five minutes ago you were all for offering tickets for free, Potter trawled Frimley in January to fill the venue for free but most never arrived until after 9 or 10pm, surely it's better to have a full venue eating and drinking all evening than fixate on the £10 ticket price.
One off tickets for one event being given out for free to build a base - fine. Effectively giving people tickets for £2 each for five sessions covering a period of seven months - lunacy. As said, no commitment to actually go back if its a pain.

Oh and those scrounging freebies are also likely to be scroungers once at the venue, I recall at the Welsh Cinema a table with a load of Asda Biere-de-Luxe bottles on it, hardly think the venue was selling those :DDD:
Good luck getting those beers past Potter's security
You assume events are still at Lakeside here of course :WWWW: anyway in your example all three were at the same venue, which they wont be, so your scenario is moot. The idea has merit, just not for as cheap as a tenner for 5 days spread across 6 months.
The thousands of BDO "Fanatics" have proved that they won't even pay a penny for one session so god knows how you'd get them to part with their cash.

They also wouldnt travel to Preston because apparently a city slap bang next to the M61/M6 and on the West Coast Main Line is difficult to get to.

Ah yes, but with what we now know about BDO events, it's possible this person brought their own just to make sure they didn't inadvertently end up drinking the piss of some cretin from somewhere which most definitely isn't Yorkshire. Allegedly.

Why he would turn down easy money by trying to whip 50 people up into a frenzy every night....
PDC beckoning?
He works for the PDC anyway, unless Mcdonald is retiring there isnt really an opening to be the "main man".
He's been quite critical of the whole situation lately.. and he's sponsored by Winmau so it's probably true he won't be doing it..

He always was critical, just didnt go far enough to actually throw people under the bus.

In any case, being sponsored personally by Winmau is surely a red herring, many players are sponsored by them and they arent suddenly going to stop wearing the patches are they?

I would split the session up in this wdt it would look better than silly 9 10 hours session I think it be a mistake to move world pro from lakeside if they get tickets on by September the latest that venu will shift a few maybe try something different with world masters

Obviously the players will carry on wearing their Winmau patches, but would Little Richard be treated differently in that as MC he would be employed by the BDO for the event? If so, they can probably put a restriction on him wearing a Winmau patch when the BDO are now sponsored by someone else.

I'm not suggesting this is indeed the reason for him not working this event (I've no idea what the reason is), but there's certainly a difference between him being sponsored by Winmau and a player being so.

perhaps hes asked for too much money and the BDO are trying to save a few quid by getting in someone new and who needs the break

Tickets are going to be sold directly by the BDO and not via the Venue's Box Office which sadly means ticket counting is probably off the menu??! :(

Which I guess it means it might not even be advertised on the Venues website!! What a farce, just to save a few more £ probably as its being run as a 'private' event almost.

Presumably if you use the venue box office they want a cut, either via an "administration fee" added on to each ticket, or a fee from the promoter.
As Skewy says, a desperate money saving exercise.

Surely it cant be right and they are merely saying you cant book direct with the venue at the moment because they havent put them on sale yet?
