Anyway I have just seen a potential excuse on Twitter...

"£28.50 for a day is steep"

Is it? I don't think it is.

For a full day no not really. I know Devo said he wanted it at a tenner.

Let's face it most will spend more than the entrance fee on food and drinks.

If £29 is too expensive, just pay the £16 or so for a session then, bloody hell try paying £16 for a session of televised darts anywhere else other than Brid.

Accomodation
Premier Inn Blackburn 7 min walk from venue
Premier Inn Darwen. 40 minute walk with a few pubs on the way, also loads of buses and a taxi should only be 3.00
Fernhurst, Ewood. 25 min walk.

Still nothing in the local paper or on Radio Lancashire. Lots of support for other things going on at KGH.

Have they forgotten what town the event is taking place in?
Becoming more and more obvious that this was supposed to be in Preston and the delay was the guild hall going into administration.

Even for the centre of Preston it would be a ridiculous choice of hotel.

I will also add:

It going to be chaos. So many fighting for the best tables.
I would suggest getting there early. Maybe camp out for the night outside the venue.

There will be walking sticks and Werthers Originals flying everywhere when they open the doors each day.

You're almost certainly correct.

Is it wrong of me to conclude the only reason this is now on in Blackburn is because it was the nearest available venue to Preston, and as they already had the hotel deal sorted, they didn't want to have to start from scratch again?

A hotel two and a half miles away from the Guild Hall, I am sure it would have been swamped with takers.

As an aside, it is 9.2 miles by road from the Blackburn venue

The BDO have helpfully informed the players of the easiest way to get to the venue. Just off the M5, It is also served by Halifax railway station, Stansted Airport, and Victoria Coach Station.
