What would be the chances of Winmau becoming the board of the PDC ?.... Or are Unicorn as shareholders totally irreplaceable at any cost ?

Unicorn are still substantial PDC shareholders. They won't be going anywhere.

seems like des did sort out getting new sponsors.
The problem is they are sponsors providing product.
What the BDO don’t have is a sponsor like a bookmaker putting up the cash for the prize fund, hence why the BDO can’t afford to run it without depleting their reserves.
Was already covered here the Eurosport deal is just TV broadcast and they cover production costs, it’s no actually money to the BDO.
They also need to find a venue where they think ticket sales and cut of the booze sales etc. covers the hire charge. Very unlikely now given so few tickets will actually be sold for cash rather than having to be given away to get people sitting in the crowd to look like their is some interest for TV.
Only providing products. You really believe they not paying

I heard that an open call was put out about 4 months ago.

I see the playoffs are on the Thursday. I expect the Fanatics who condemned the PDC ladies qualifier being on a working day to be consistent and do exactly the same here.
