I think Ginge means that it would cause serious ructions with the NDB if the BDO chose to organise and hold their flagship events in The Netherlands, and walk away with the profit. I'm not 100% certain but I couldn't see the rule that the BDO reserves the right to hold a ranking event anywhere in the world on the website (used to be there), so that would mean they would need to ask anyway.

They are happy to let the PDC run events in NL

I didn't say they couldn't do it, I just said they would need to ask. Guaranteeing a plane-load of Brits for an Open to a country with a weak darts federation and no event of their own is a bit different to pitching up in The Netherlands with your most prestigious events and saying thanks for lending us your fans, but we'll keep the cash!

with glen gone we dont know whos going to win lakey - we all know that mvg will win the pdc worlds - or perhaps the bottling scotsman - you know only 2 or 3 players can win it - more peoople have a chance at lakey - the pdc is too predicatble - its always mvg anderson wright and cross - you get new semi and finalists in the bdo - how many times have we seen harms and mitchell play one another - or smith neale and unterbucher - barely ever - we have seen mvg and the clown face each other loads of times - its reperitive

Probably because they dont have a confirmed venue yet.

The dates are on the Calendar page, and have been since October or so.

She did say that once venues are announced it would be multi year deals..so I assume they are deep in negotiations with venues ...and I assume that would include Lakeside or alternative venues for the Worlds...was a bit silly for a journalist to put a timescale on it..or for Des to give him that timescale...

Trotter, you or I could book a venue in ten minutes so I struggle to see why it takes the BDO months and months to confirm any venue, especially when the dates have already been announced and Eurosport informed. The conversation should be something like this:

1 - Hi, is your venue available on these dates?
2 - How much is the rental?
3 - What ticket percentage can we agree?
4 - What bar percentage can we agree?
5 - What deposit do you need?

It is not rocket science FFS.
