And well done Laura Turner. She's a decent player with a simple action. Good to see a winner without a quirky throw.
Eh? Why is that "good"?
It doesn't matter a jot about their actions.
Hitting doubles wins matches.

I suppose it's more likely that they'll maintain their form rather than be shit hot for a while and then fall away when their action fails them
Oh, and the BDO Facebook page... you get a blow by blow account of the mega-important Slovak Open and Scottish Open, but not a peep all weekend about the EDO Isle of Man Open.,

Move movement, more places to go wrong. Case in point, Deta Hedman.

TBF in the women’s game most of the top players have simple actions. Deta is the obvious exception to that rule. I guess De Graffs is a bit odd too.
Turner beat them both in the open.
The top players have simpler throws, although Winstanley's certainly isn't conventional. I see more, simple, conventional throws at the top as a sign of improvement in the overall standard of the game. Higher standards are more demanding and weed out technical weakness.

You will see him in the GSOD i reckon, No doubt he would perform better then at Q School/Challenge Tour
Realistically how can you have Waites in the GSOD now given that he has proven he is not good enough to obtain a Tour Card ?
You may as well really invite the top 4 of the Challenge Tour & Top 4 off the development tour rather than 8 BDO players if people who failed to qualify for Tour Cards can then qualify thru the BDO invites route.

So Krzysztof Ratajski will never be allowed to play in the GSOD, because he failed at Euro Q School.
