Barney along with Webby and Ando switching circa 2006-2008 was in my opinion the point where the PDC overtook the BDO, of course following on from and due to Uncle Barry's governance.
Yes I agree but i think by then in all fairness the BDO wasn't spoken of as being 'great' it was already in a 'not great' state thanks to Olly's stubborn leadership
Well the backstabbers realised how stubborn he was, ousted Olly and then went on to make the BDO the biggest name in darts again.......... well that was the plan but it never quite worked out.

But is the bdo in a worse state than many think. As I say again I am sure the accounts showed a healthy balance in reserve but Paul Indicating It's Really bad.

Anyway, whatever the spanner is des sees it as only a temporary delay to his great and shocking announcement. He can't lose though. If he pulls something off he will be seen as a hero if not the past board will be to blame.

I do like the fact that he is more open than previous board. And does seem to hear criticism and respond to it.

I thought the accounts only covered the period up to April (or May?) 2018? In which case the continued subsidising of the World Trophy and World Masters by the board in 2018 would not be included. I would imagine the actual position in August last year was substantially worse than the latest accounts show, if I've got my dates right.

Is this the same twitter account where you stated you had signed the ‘revoke brexit’ petition 5 times? Muppet.
Des Jacklin: ‘People say the BDO can’t compete with the PDC, but that is the biggest load of crap in the world’

God rest Alf Garnett and Prince Phil.

I used to love cycling but unfortunately I know a man who doesn’t like cyclists. :roadrage:

Week day one the 1st day both session sold out and if the ticket whet on sale by mid August then freebies won’t be needed

Really? You assume everyone will follow the event. A hell of a lot only go because it's at Lakeside. Many simply wont bother anymore.

Exactly.
Would I traipse up North or even London to watch the Worlds every year?
Not a chance.

But to be fair you are not a typical Lakeside attendee.

Been the last two years haven't I?
Friend of mine and his wife get a season ticket every year, have done for as long as I can remember. Would they do the same if it moved?
Nope.
A lot of people would be the same. Numbers would take a massive hit. Anyone who says otherwise need only look at the screenshots of the other big tournaments the last few years.

What I mean by my comment is you are only going because a group of forum lads are going.
And because like you say yourself it is close to where you live.
