And frankly the standard is appalling too.
It’s not been great but the players at the top of the BDO rankings are in the latter stages. The standard will be no different to that of any women’s event
But the winner of this event is guaranteed £7500. The standard doesn't justify the reward. We're going back to the early 2000s with prelim qualifiers like this.

I know Mikuru is clearly a class above the other overseas players and should win this, but I'd argue two players should come through a combined event. The World Championship will already have qualifiers from 30 countries so there's no argument over universality.

Renata Slowikowska has qualified for the semi finals posting 62.6, 60.5, 52.1 and 56.3 averages. Tournament average is 57.84!

Just luck of the draw. She avoided the obviously better players. Other quarters had
- Sato, de Graaf, Podgorska and Steenbergen.
- Hammond and Dobromyslova.
- Suzuki

Suzuki's the best of them, but, Sato or Dobromyslova could beat her in one game.
Looks like the final will be Suzuki v Sato, unless Hammond can turn it around (which she won't do).

Sato broke back to 3-4 with a 15 darter. Then started her leg with 28.

The 28 didn't matter, but other poor scores let Suzuki break in 18 to go 5-3 up.
Then won ugly in 23.

It's what we expected.
Good to see Sato playing in Europe more, adding a bit of depth to the women's game.

Re-break Suzuki. 5-3.

Suzuki has 6 darts for the win.

Nothing outstanding, but you can just look at averages to see the better players in the field.
Not helped by a random draw that had de Graaf beat Podgorska in the last 32, then Sato beat de Graaf in the last 16.

The PDC have got what they want again.. Ana last year was perfect, a well known face they already knew... Suzuki this year.. Same again.. They will be well happy with that..

I'm not sure that given the turn out and standard that they will be desperate to commit to putting on a full tour for ladies though... They will be happy to keep saying their tours are fully open to ladies whilst giving a spot in the Slam and 2 in the Worlds...

The women players may not have a choice if things that are being said are correct and no cash left in the BDO and go for the Ally pall places next year

When you say they have no choice what do you mean?
The route to Ally Pally is entering the qualifier at the moment.

I think he means if the BDO goes, they'll all enter in hope of getting any decent money.
