Well deserved victory. Wright simply was the better of the two tonight (by miles actually).
To survive, is to be victorious!

Standard overall was much poorer than recent years.craigmc wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 9:23 pm Probably the best tournament as a whole ever? So many stories and so many great matches. Great final and whilst i didn't expect Wright to win he deserved it and came over as a gracious winner.MVG handled the defeat better than i expected. Hearn must be overjoyed with the publicity and the interest in what comes next for so many players? The money making machine is showing no signs of slowing down.. Just a great tournament.

Was an average tournament for me on balance. Some great moments with Fallon and Wright winning the whole thing.
Found it hard to sit glued to sessions like I used to. Poss darts fatigue sets in with such a long event. Love the sets format though.

Averages dont always tell the whole story. So many deciding sets and seeds falling. I certainly enjoyed the whole thing more than normal.Black Velvet wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 9:35 pmStandard overall was much poorer than recent years.craigmc wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 9:23 pm Probably the best tournament as a whole ever? And his best was 107 when he was unbeatable (and his other win was 102 in 3rd gear not being pushed by smith)ChrisW wrote:It's his 2nd best average in a PDC WC final.Zapp Brannigan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 01, 2020 9:20 pmHe’s dropped off from the player that could bang 107, 110 averages in the worlds over long formatsChrisW wrote:102 v 102. He’s got to sort that out, it’s like he doesn’t have the drive any more. He was nowhere near the unbeatable player he was during the tournament
If mvg drops back into the pack that averages late 90s early tons then we are going to see a mix of champions for the next couple of years
There’s a fair few players that can can hit a 100 average over a long format, any of the premier league lads for starters and if that’s the level darts is at at the minute then we are going to see different winners for a few years.
He’s not the unbeatable Taylor like player he was looking like being 3/4 years back. He’s been for the taking most rounds but none of his opposition tuned up, he just finally came up against someone who turned up.

So did I.
But thinking about it surely he will reveal all on the eve, or 1st.day, of the renegade world champs?

Thought the prelims and 1st few rounds better than normal and like I said fair few close games.iv given my opinion and stand by it. I enjoyed the whole thing more than recent years.Maybe bit giddy after MVG losing and Wright winning in grand style instead of MVG landslide final win which i expected. Lots of young players on the up plus few big names with plenty to prove after this.

Really?!
On the night of the pdc final and PL line up people thought he would talk about WDF.. etc
.
People are off their rockers, unless I'm missing a woosh here.

Very entertaining tournament overall. Been watching a lot more events this year than previously including a number of the floor events and that helped with knowing the players games better.
The way it's set up we have a number of talented players in their 20s coming through and mvg slipping back to keep things competitive throughout 2020. Things are looking healthy in pdc land.
