Sometimes people are naive fools. We all know now how sick and disturbed Jimmy Savile was, yet for obvious reasons he never answered for his crimes, nor did he have the opportunity to defend himself. Nobody has proven certain athletes to have been using performance enhancing drugs, but one look at an athlete's career progression (jobber at 25, world class at 30, etc) can usually tell you all you need to know. But none of this is really that pertinent to the point I was making.

People continued to defend him AFTER the trial even though the heavy sentence (which you would only get for serious serial rape) told us what a piece of shit he really is.

But if his own gf (or close family members) didn't know what he'd been up to, he's either some kind of evil genius or they're blind. People who didn't know him saying "I don't know if he's guilty or innocent" before the trial is fine. That's what my position was.

Yet on a certain forum, this didn't happen. People made a few veiled threats over it just because they liked him as a darts player and he was a mate of a mate or something. The same forum allowed us to post all sorts of shite, but apparently being disgusted with a child rapist was beyond the pale.

He’ll probably be out in just 2 short years. Hope he crawls under a stone never to be seen again.

He probably wouldnt be able to attend any BDO event anyway as they have youth events. Parole conditions would no doubt forbid it.

Still doesn't get his due credit because he played in the BDO recently.

You know how it works. Daryl Gurney was a jobber when he was losing to Adams at Lakeside. Now that he is won a few PDC events he is a top player.

Bryant was accused by one person, who declined to follow up, and Bryant never admitted rape. He settled the civil case.

A conviction for rape would not have been forgiven.

Jimmy Savile was accused by a large number of people. It's possible they're all lying, or have false memories, but the numbers, combined with his weirdness and other evidence in the public domain that makes people so confident.
