As long as Chisnall doesn't get lazy again, he's an obvious Premier League pick due to his potential for huge scoring.Kinks wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 3:56 pm If you look at Order of Merit earnings over the year Durrant is about 25k ahead of Wade and has finished the year a lot stronger Major wise, I would throw Durrant in, always good to see a new face and someone that actually wants to play in it.
I would also consider Chisnall over Gurney, Chisnall is 5th on Order of Merit earnings this year and it took arguably the best individual performance so far to beat him at the worlds.

I would expect the PDC to drop Wade in favor of Durrant. Also since Wade kind off stated he couldn't care less about participating.ChrisW wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 3:34 pm If you take it on prize money this year he is 10th according to ddb.
1 Michael van Gerwen Netherlands £1,112,250
2 Gerwyn Price Wales £626,750
3 Rob Cross England £595,750
4 Peter Wright Scotland £528,000
5 Daryl Gurney Northern Ireland £367,000
6 Michael Smith England £353,288
7 Nathan Aspinall England £348,250
8 James Wade England £335,250
9 Dave Chisnall England £293,750
10 Glen Durrant England £266,500
11 Ian White England £262,750
12 Mensur Suljovic Austria £259,500
13 Krzysztof Ratajski Poland £188,250
14 Adrian Lewis England £161,000
15 Jonny Clayton Wales £160,500
16 Gary Anderson Scotland £157,500
But come on, they could easily have filled a proper 10-darter field for the PL, instead of this 'challengers monster':
Van Gerwen
Price
Cross
Wright
Gurney
Smith
Aspinall
Chisnall
Anderson
Durrant/Wade

Only 9.1205 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 4:57 pmThere are currently 10 spots in the Premier League, and it's hard to come up with 10 players who've had a better year. That makes sense, given that Durrant repeated in 2020 he'd probably end up 9th on the OOM.Black Velvet wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 3:30 pm Durrant hasn't really done much to deserve it, despite a decent first year.
He reached 3 major semi-finals (van Gerwen, Wade; Cross; Aspinall, Smith) plus the World Championship quarter-final (Gurney), which is obviously a better major record this year than Anderson's Pale Shadow, Gurney, Wade or White.
The 2020 Unibet Premier League will feature nine 'Challengers' in a return to the successful format of the 2019 tournament.
Following Gary Anderson’s withdrawal ahead of the 2019 Premier League, nine players were introduced to compete as ‘Contenders’ for the first time in the tournament's history alongside the nine stars competing in the league phase.
The nine players who made their Premier League debuts as Contenders were made up of stars of the future and local favourites, resulting in a series of memorable nights across Europe.
This format will return in 2020, with nine players competing under the re-branded 'Challengers' banner for the first nine weeks of the competition.
Points won by Challengers will not count towards the league table, however their opponents will retain any points gained from the matches.
Challengers will receive financial bonuses for winning or drawing their matches.
Following the opening nine nights of fixtures, the player placed ninth on the Premier League table following Judgement Night in Rotterdam on March 26 will be eliminated from the competition.
The remaining eight players will then battle it out from Nights Ten to 16 in the race to win places in the Play-Offs at The O2 on Thursday May 21.
The nine big-name competitors in the 2020 Unibet Premier League will be announced on New Year’s Day following the conclusion of the World Championship final, with the top four from the PDC Order of Merit joined by five wildcard selections.
The nine Challengers will then be confirmed during early January.
The 2020 Unibet Premier League will be played from February 6 - May 21 2020 at venues across Europe.
The tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, on PDCTV-HD for Rest of the World Subscribers and through the PDC's worldwide broadcast partners including DAZN and RTL7.

Follow up question asked. Think this confirms that Fallon will definitely be one of the challengers.DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 1:23 pmGood question. What about the "Challengers"?ssjsa wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 1:19 pmReply from Barry.ssjsa wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 10:58 pmI know what the PDC have insisted on and am sure that they would stick to that criteria. But if Sky still have their 2 picks and insist on Fallon being in, would the contractual obligation of such an agreement mean that she plays?trotter01 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2019 10:34 pmThe PDC have always insisted in the past that the players have to be full time PDC players... I suppose they might make an exception for Fallon but I just think they will save her for the World Series events... Losses week after week might just take some shine off those

Fair picks, big 12-18 months now for Chizzy, Wade and Lewis. Do they have the desire to rise up again. I doubt it with Lewis, Chizzy will just carry on and see what happend. Wade I honestly dont think he is that bothered.ChrisW wrote:MVG

Re: PDC Premier League 2020
Chisnall deserves to be in this event without a shadow of a doubt - finalist at the Grand Prix, 1/2 finals at the Masters & World Series Finals, 1/4 finals at the Euros & Grand Slam. Didn't get the chance to prove anything in the PL last year or World Cup either.
Gurney by contrast had 3 semi-finals on TV but lots of early exits aside from this. Chizzy is the more entertaining player too without a doubt.
Other than that, the remaining 8 are absolutely correct. Not keen on the challengers idea at all as it makes it unfair on the players who have qualified to play players of different quality levels and some in their home city, some not!

‘Youth’ champ
Dimitri
Dobey
JDZ
Clayton
O’Connor
And probably Cullen.
