For the majority of the crowd attending the PL I don't think who the participants are actually affects their decision as to whether or not they go.
If the PDC thought this was the case why would tickets be on sale before names are announced.
I know I am going to Sheffield as per usual and no idea who will be playing even though there is a good chance they will be top ranked players as it is after the elimination round.

The PDC have always insisted in the past that the players have to be full time PDC players... I suppose they might make an exception for Fallon but I just think they will save her for the World Series events... Losses week after week might just take some shine off those
I know what the PDC have insisted on and am sure that they would stick to that criteria. But if Sky still have their 2 picks and insist on Fallon being in, would the contractual obligation of such an agreement mean that she plays?

Am going to ask Barry Hearn on Twitter.

Good question. What about the "Challengers"?

Durrant hasn't really done much to deserve it, despite a decent first year.

No no no no his first year was better than what Barney did in his first year, someone on here said so.

I would say give him a challenger place again this year. But he does seem to be flavour of the year so could see him getting a place.

Where is he in relation to Bunting after their respective first years? Feels like they'd be pretty similar?

The interview from yesterday with Barry Hearn where he reveals Sherrock will be having a 'good' chance of selection as a challenger.

If you look at Order of Merit earnings over the year Durrant is about 25k ahead of Wade and has finished the year a lot stronger Major wise, I would throw Durrant in, always good to see a new face and someone that actually wants to play in it.

I would also consider Chisnall over Gurney, Chisnall is 5th on Order of Merit earnings this year and it took arguably the best individual performance so far to beat him at the worlds.

I think a challenger will be viewed as different from the 9 picks which would have to be a tour card..

and i think Fallon will go to QS as she'll want to at least play the Challenge Tour.. although her year is pretty full anyway with all the World Series, loads of exbos and the ladies tour..

Certainly wouldn't have a problem with durrant, he's had a good year and was my second choice for last spot. I went with wade there as much because of what he did last year by making the semi finals after finishing 3rd as well as a decent 2019 and mainting a tol 10 place in the rankings.

I think durrant will get a challenger spot in 2020 but no complaints if he gets a full spot.

There are currently 10 spots in the Premier League, and it's hard to come up with 10 players who've had a better year. That makes sense, given that Durrant repeated in 2020 he'd probably end up 9th on the OOM.

He reached 3 major semi-finals (van Gerwen, Wade; Cross; Aspinall, Smith) plus the World Championship quarter-final (Gurney), which is obviously a better major record this year than Anderson's Pale Shadow, Gurney, Wade or White.
