The venues he may have come up with will have to deliver on cheap bars, cheap hotel accomodation and near to travel hubs otherwise they will always be half empty.
It will always be at least half empty, it has been proven time and time again the casual punter is not interested in BDO events and why would they be?
The world trophy will probably be the worst attended ever and after seeing last years effort that will be a remarkable achievement.

Unless it's at Lakeside.

99% sure Des is not a fan of Lakeside at all and will be doing everything he can to ensure Sportotal send the event elsewhere in January, it was only there in January just gone because they ran out of time to secure a different venue.

Surely instead of running a event at a massive loss and to the embarrassment of everyone when nobody turns up it would be easier to speak to Eurosport and try to renegotiate their deal to just be 2 events?

Has Pauly praised Des' email as a masterclass of literary composition and importance not seen since the Magna Carta yet?

Hard to get hold of one to see as there is only 1 place in the UK that sells them might prove a bit expensive for counties when they wear out their 2 freebies and someone realises they have a captive market

Surprised they are only available from one retailer in the UK.
In Holland can get them from a few places and an online general retailer.

Dartscorner's price is cheaper than Winmau's board or Unicorn's.

Not on a wider scale they are not

Gladiator III One80 board is £39.95 + (£6.95pp) = £46.90 from the ONLY place you can get one in the UK

Winmau Blade 5 from argos you can pick up in the high street any day you want one is £31.99

Unicorn Eclipse HD2 Pro can buy one delivered from Amazon for £45.00 (Although this is irrelevant as the counties and the BDO have never used these boards and possibly never will)

How do prices compare where you can buy them from more than one retailer ?

How many boards does a County use in a year ?

I would imagine counties buy in bulk.

Suppose it depends on a definition of "bulk". Each county only hosts 4/5 games over a year, needs one stage board and a couple of practice boards, its hardly a 64 lane setup is it?

You would also hope there would be a BICC ordering process set up as it is a 5 year deal.

10 a year then as a rough average at 15 quid more than they currently pay that's each county out an extra £150 quid. Nice new tax on a county Des has managed to negotiate there, what a businessman !

Have TT et al done the math yet and realised ?

I support Des Jacklin.

I'm particularly looking forward to him closing this place down in all fairness.
