At least Neil can reach the board to remove his own darts.

Re: Tony Mitchell
It’s a long road back but better than not reaching the board at half distance after a few weeks.
I’ll take that, the problem i’ve got is holding the dart in the same place , in the same way.
Working on it.

Good man, Tony.
Glad to see you back on the board. You'd still beat me.

Re: Tony Mitchell
So , those interested i’m Slowly improving , hit two 180’s a couple of days ago along with a best leg of 19 darts, it’s a long way from not reaching the board at half distance , I’ve just found out they screwed up the MRI so have to repeat that before seeing the neurologist in Hull ! Any advice on switching from single vision to varifocal gratefully received

For those interested, I think that's most of us. If you're having a 19 darter, well, you're getting back to where you were.Maverick wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2019 1:48 pm So , those interested i’m Slowly improving , hit two 180’s a couple of days ago along with a best leg of 19 darts, it’s a long way from not reaching the board at half distance , I’ve just found out they screwed up the MRI so have to repeat that before seeing the neurologist in Hull ! For varifocals, different parts of the lens are for different distances.
So:
- to change the type of distance you're looking at you move your eyes to the appropriate part of the lens
- to change the location you're looking at, you move your head instead of your eyes.
It's a change. I don't think I'm really used to mine, and I've had them for a bit over a year. I still tend to move my eyes when I shouldn't.

Just a quickie , hit a 15 darter tonight finishing 88 on the bull , enjoyed the practice and littered with 18-24 dart legs. May it continue .

Nice. Seems like you're making good progress now. Might not be long before people are telling you to stop making excuses.

Re: Tony Mitchell
thought I got at least 6 months?
Have asked on twitter for Wayne’s help with constructing my throw again, but it’s the concentration that is tough, I can produce one or two good scores then I throw like I haven’t held them before for a couple. The 15 I put together three good scores, a fuck about and a finish on the bull! I can’t do that everytime!

I saw your tweet earlier. Looks like you're doing really well. Gotta be honest, I love Mardle
I have some vision issues and swapped from single vision to varifocals a while back as was having to take my glasses of to do close up stuff. I adapted pretty quickly and my top tips are as follows:
Make sure you move your head (rather then just your eyes) to negotiate steps.
More importantly I have a pair of single vision glasses that I have solely for playing darts in. I found worrying about the angle my head was at when throwing was another thing I didn't want to be worrying about as it seems I don't look at the board through the right bit of the lens when I'm using varifocals . This may not be an issue for you - you may not hold your head skew wiff but might be worth bearing in mind.
Best wishes for your continued recovery
MD

Re: Tony Mitchell
Thanks for the feedback , I have tried with varifocals and at the moment everything seems to be working , i’ve Hit a 13 darter but for life of me don’t remember exactly what I hit ! All I know is afterward it was littered with crap I have this issue concentrating , have a practice for an hour lined up to n Friday , will see where i’m at then.

Re: Tony Mitchell
Hit two more 180’s today a 15,16,17,18,19 darter today along with multiple legs of 20-24 darts, I don’t bother beyond 24 darts as I’ll get hammered if I go beyond 7 visits

Re: Tony Mitchell
I'd think that going beyond 24 would be a good exercise in patience, as well as keeping things real by not ignoring bad throws.
Glad to know you're continuing to be positive and seeing some progress.
(If I only had 24 darts for 501, I'd never complete a leg.)
