Can't really blame the WDF, i don't see many other sports with 2nd tier players getting their 2nd tier world cup on TV. They may as well scrap the whole thing. Shame with internationals, that should be run by the PDC who would then have the best players representing and have it on TV.

To add to that I think the PDC have said they can't run it. The amateur game is too big for them.

Hearn did say he was going to be contacting Des this week re GSOD places. Surely Des will ask or help? And if he does I reckon he will get help.

I'm not saying run an amateur side of things as the internationals and wdf world cup are. Im saying run a professional international campaign like how they have a professional world cup. Not entirely sure where a professional european championsips/6 nations style event would fit in. However i wouldn't be suprised if it could be marketed to one of BBC, ITV or Sky Sports.

Mardle thinking at1st Des the right man but now not so sure.

makes it clear a healthy bdo is good for darts but he says that if the bdo folded darts itself would be in trouble. I don't think so. Surely if that happened opens , super league, county etc would still continue. And surely the pdc wouldn't be in danger?

Mardle is correct, Darts will lose its bottom if BDO folded.

- Many Open events carry World masters places (Increased TV Chance)
- County? Who runs it
- Super League, assuming Country run it who do they answer too

It’s not going to be that bad if anything happens. Just means the PDC are going to have to extend the challenge tour to include the majors opens we would miss out on

Bicc would still run the county games and the counties would run what goes on in amateur darts in the their counties.....which is what they would all be happy doing

PDC should have a challenge tour finals with the winner going to the worlds IMO

Currently the top of the Challenge Tour OOM qualifies for the PDC World Championship.

I would like to see the PDC Challenge Tour have BDO categorization, and be worked into the calendar to avoid clashes. By money they're Category A+ (10k), but the entry fee is much higher than typical BDO events, and that accounts for more than half of the prize fund. Even some moderate categorization like B could help encourage players to play both.

The BDO folding would be far more damaging to darts than if the PDC folded.

l think if the BDO folded the effect could be catastrophic for those players who play under its auspices who would run their showpiece tournaments i.e the Masters or the Lakeside i don't see sponsors hammering down Des's door to sponsor the tournaments i can't see Barry taking over the BDO as they knocked him back a decade ago the PDC is going from strength to strength and the BDO is going backwards
