Watched that yesterday. It was a good interview overall.

Mardle thinking at1st Des the right man but now not so sure.

makes it clear a healthy bdo is good for darts but he says that if the bdo folded darts itself would be in trouble. I don't think so. Surely if that happened opens , super league, county etc would still continue. And surely the pdc wouldn't be in danger?

Mardle is correct, Darts will lose its bottom if BDO folded.

- Many Open events carry World masters places (Increased TV Chance)
- County? Who runs it
- Super League, assuming Country run it who do they answer too

It’s not going to be that bad if anything happens. Just means the PDC are going to have to extend the challenge tour to include the majors opens we would miss out on

Bicc would still run the county games and the counties would run what goes on in amateur darts in the their counties.....which is what they would all be happy doing

Oh no the world is ending

WDF would either run the worlds itself or allow someone else to run it eg EDO, Dutch or maybe even a soon to be formed organisation.

County basically runs itself, all the BDO do is issue dates in the calendar for it.

Super league would also continue. No change there at all.

Wdf running the worlds. How would that work?
It wouldn't. They would have to tender both the Masters and Lakeside to a national governing body that would be willing to take on the risk. Only one other country that maybe could do that and the Dutch are not doing that well as an organisation.

How exactly couldn’t the WDF run the world championship?

The BDO do a piss poor job of it, the WDF couldn’t do any worse.

They already have a ranking system in place, all it would take would be a phone call to potter and it’s at the lakeside again

Darts will always continue with or without the BDO

So do exactly what the BDO used to do. Hurrah!

The WDF has no jurisdiction to stage any event in a member country. They tender and sanction events in member countries. The only tournaments their constitution and byelaws say they organise are the area cups and world cup. They need applications to host these events from member organisations.

Since I can see no reference to a World Championship being one of the tournaments they organise, and they don't have the authority at the moment to stage an event in a member country, then I'm not sure how they could do it themselves.
