So apparently the men’s prize money will still be 300k going by the weekly darts interview with des but the woman’s will now be

Winner 20.000
Runners up 10.000
Semis 4000
Quarter final 2000
Last 16 1000

No word on sponsor he said might be 1 big one covering it all or separate one for men’s and woman’s

So the mind blowing increase and figures are basically a damp squib. 4 gs to get to the semi.
Pathetic

So not even 20% of the men’s fund
I’m sure everyone is shocked at the increase

Good increase but I think big gap From semis to runner up 5k for semi might have looked lesstop heavy but vast improvement

Yes, I judge success on prize money and sponsorship too. Really adds to the excitement, doesn't it.
Nice try. But events don't happen without those things.
If the BDO are paying the prize money instead of Potter it will break them unless they generate the revenue elsewhere.

No sign of that yet.

couple of interesting points:

he did say they considered a venue outside of the uk!

And also after the ref team resigned one of the sponsors pulled out (citing the resignations as the reason) but Des talked then back on board. Wonder who that was?

And one of the refs to be named, will be a massive talking point.

And he favours ladies darts over the mens game.

Actually not a bad interview.

Cant think why he claims to prefer the ladies game. Nope, no idea at all. A proper puzzler that one.

Seens he also said the old refs should never have gone on social media the other week to mass resign. And for no reason whatsoever, this is worth a repost....

An ex player would be a good talking point for a ref. Should happen more. Although I assume it will be a woman given his comment
