Nor neccersarily. Maybe someone out there realises that a load of foreign j*bbers and women doesnt put bums on seats. They again the current top 16 dont have much star appeal.

They cannot agree to anything that cuts the field.. Not at this stage after a whole year of qualifying.. They would be a laughing stock and there would be mutiny and the position of Des would be untenable.. That's why it cannot happen.. But something must be afoot surely.. Just doesn't make sense not selling tickets yet.. Maybe a dispute over a split of takings and who gets what?

If I remember, someone posted that the BDO get the venue FOC for year one and get to keep the gate receipts.
Someone posted it, I’m sure.
So if that’s the case, why aren’t they flogging as many as possible early doors?

Yes it seems I misinterpreted the info...... the promoter wants a guarantee that the Top 16 will be there (in addition to the usual field) however the BDO have said any player not entering the Masters will be banned from the Worlds as well as not eligible for GSoD selection. A number of players have withdrawn their name from the Masters boycott letter as a result however a number of Top 16 players remain on it. The Dutch are sticking together, it seems.

This is probably why tickets have been delayed. Knew I should have waited until I got a bit more clarity

What is? The BDO threatening sanctions, or players threatening to boycott?

Both are, really. What is so suddenly important about the Masters that they have to threaten people who dont want to play it? Quite sure one player a couple of years back tossed it off because he couldnt get the day off work, and he was a seed ffs.

Its also contradictory - they want the top players at the Masters yet have just shoved the top players back in the first round so they might not even make the TV stages anyway.
