he did say it was a shame they had left lakeside but understood the reason they needed to move. Also made the point some fans went because of the venue itself and thus he reckons they will lose some folk because of change.

Anyone heard an explosion yet?
Tickets won't go on sale without a confirmed venue. Imagine if the PDC did this.
Whole new levels of embarrassment that you wouldnt have thought possible.

do we actually know if the venue is not confirmed? If it isn't why isn't it?DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:21 am Anyone heard an explosion yet?

Still think sponsorship of the prize fund may be the reason. Would ticket sales cover it?
With all it's faults at least at lakeside folks could book with confidence knowing the dates and venue.

Grossest incompetence ever aside, there's no other excuse for tickets not being on sale.devosteve wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:25 amdo we actually know if the venue is not confirmed? If it isn't why isn't it?DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:21 am Anyone heard an explosion yet?

The event is less than 3 months away.
Des meanwhile is having a good time that's mega cheappp in Northern Cyprus. Truly unbelievable dereliction of duty.

Why would issues of sponsorship for the prize fund stop them selling tickets?devosteve wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:25 amdo we actually know if the venue is not confirmed? If it isn't why isn't it?DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:21 am Anyone heard an explosion yet?

The size of the prize fund and who is paying for it is irrelevant to getting tickets sold.
Unless you're suggesting this might not go ahead at all?
Re: BDO Worlds Tickets 2020 "Explosion" Watch
My thought is that maybe they can't afford to pay the prize fund? So are they looking to going back to lakeside with the prize fund sorted?Buzz Fledderjohn wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 10:04 amWhy would issues of sponsorship for the prize fund stop them selling tickets?devosteve wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 9:25 amdo we actually know if the venue is not confirmed? I haven't a clue, just guessing. But why are tickets not on sale? There must be a reason.
Surely Des isn't waiting for the masters to be over with them focus on the WC?

People who have no intention of buying tickets, moaning about there being no tickets to buy. 'Grossest incompetence', apparently.

So whichever way you look at it, it seems the only reason tickets aren't on sale yet is because they don't know where it's going to be yet.devosteve wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2019 10:14 amMy thought is that maybe they can't afford to pay the prize fund? Either they still haven't confirmed the new venue, or the new venue is confirmed but now they realise they can't afford to run it without a headline sponsor and so are looking to go back to Potter, cap in hand (and let's not for the moment worry about what sort of termination fee they'll have to pay Indigo to get out of any signed contract).
Des may or may not be waiting until after the Masters, but he's certainly waiting until after he's stocked up on duty free fags at the wife's mega cheeaapppppppp Cyprus beano.
You'd think the Chairman / CEO would have his priorities sorted a bit differently, but there you go.
Only being manager to a PDC player is a conflict of interest, apparently.
