What do we think the deal was here (say under olly croft)? Potter keeps all ticket sales but pays out all the prize fund, but he provides loads of free accommodation for the inner circle?

Basically yes but he was also entitled to the funds from any secondary sponsorship if you recall the Jackpot Joygate saga where they had sponsored the players rooms but Bob kept the monies and charged the room fee to entrants who had been knocked out the tournament if they stayed on or if they had a partner stay with them.

Ok, just done a count-up of those that appear to have been genuinely sold, rather than those that have just not been released yet. It looks like 1129 across the whole tournament, after 2.5 days on sale. Could be worse....

Ok - this is the current position. Seats sold per day include the package deals, but for the revenue I've kept them as separate items. Ignore anyone who says that loads of tickets have been sold upstairs - they haven't!

Does anybody know how much Des and the team plan to spend on advertising there flagship event and are we expecting a full TV advert, social media targeting, radio advertising in the London area etc.

The "waiting for the order of play" must only affect friends and family of players. Surely if you're a fan of "best of order" darts, you'd buy tickets no matter who was playing.

Exactly the last weekend should sell out virtually straight away as everyone who is a fan wants to see the semis and finals before anything else. The uptake of these tickets from the compiled list above doesn't bode too well.

As for the advertising even Satchi & Satchi couldn't save this debacle so what chance does super spammer Paula have ? I presumed their only real coherent plan was hoping Eurosport stick a few ads across their various channels. How they intend to inform and attract the Dutch contingent I have no clues over. A good idea might of been for every free person they admitted for the Masters they got their email address from and then offered them a discounted ticket to the worlds.

Midweek afternoons are absolutely fucking shocking, there will be more people in the players area then there will be paying fans in the arena watching the darts.

There’s 1000’s of homeless in London, maybe Des could drag a few hundred off the streets with the offer of keeping dry and warm for 5 hours.

It's a real niche event now.. plenty of niche events out there but surely none with a 100k first prize.. Without big sponsorship coming in the BDO cannot continue at this level offering these prize funds with those ticket sales.. Its very worrying times..
Of course there will be no proper advertising outside of Eurosport promos close to the event and flyers on Fanatics.. None of which will bring in anybody that wasn't going to go anyway..

Someone on Fanatics saying they should get rid of the afternoon sessions and expand the tournement to 2 weeks worth of evening sessions!!!

Surely reducing it to a weekend format of Friday to Sunday would be more practical in a business sense?
