I haven't really commented before but the decision to take this away from the Lakeside was unfathomable stupidy. It was the one thing it had going for it. Apart from the money Potter put up, it had a claim on being the historic and spiritual home of world championship darts. It had a loyal fanbase who would buy tickets and attend sessions regardless of the lineup. But most importantly - that was the brand. It may be a dump but it does have that history and to me, from a marketing petspective, this is akin to Coke changing its recipe and Gerald Ratner admitting he sold crap jewellery. I know it's been said before but this is the death rattle of the BDO as a platform for top level darts. An empty, souless 02, broadcasting a terrible lineup on Eurosport. It's the end of days folks.
