So we're all in agreement that Wayne's promotional efforts so far have been a little, shall we say, lacklustre.

There is another way of looking at this. I'm in no way suggesting this is what I think has happened, only that it's a possibility.

Could this be a brilliant example of revenge being a dish best served cold?

After that farce with Des and his kangaroo court, Wayne said he'd never work with Des or the BDO again.
Then, when Des announced his masterplan to leave Lakeside and take his world championship to the Indigo, there were rumblings that Wayne had used his connections through his Shownights gigs to assist making it happen.
Everyone at that early stage knew it was a crazy business decision for the BDO, but they went ahead with it anyway.
Now, as it's quite predictably dying on it's arse, up pops Wayne saying "Don't worry Des. I've got all my contacts I can use to help out. You just get yourself some winter sun in the Canaries and leave the heavy lifting to me."

And then this is what he's come up with. If Des complains, he just turns round and says "At least I tried mate".

As I said, this is nothing more than a theory of what might possibly have happened, but if it's anywhere near the mark, you've got to hand it to Wayne. He's done Des up like a kipper.

I also assume he can only work with the material he has. If the BDO and/or the venue are only willing to give away one set of Final tickets, give away no others, offer no discounts etc, what else can he do?

Oh, I agree the most likely scenario is he's doing what he can with what he's got to work with, and given how little that is, you can't blame him for just going through the motions.

I just thought I'd throw my little conspiracy theory out there for a laugh.

A cursory look at Tuesday because its the easiest to do.......still 39 for Tuesday afternoon (2 days after that count), and not sure about the evening but maybe a couple more, all going very well.

Yes you can't really blame Wayne for this.. They approached him.. He has no budget to properly advertise and cannot just give tickets away.. This was a huge mess long before Wayne.. The buck stops at Des and those who voted for Des

If so even his 'database' of customers will be of the wrong demographic for these 'tickets' or 'promotions'

Also doesn't anyone else think its odd that a multi uber millionaire businessman of the year fails to know or have a proper contact in promotions and advertising ?
