In the end they 'sold' over 13,000 last year, although that does include the afternoon county giveaways. It was about 12,000 in advance of the event starting

If the prize fund wasn't getting slashed before, it certainly is once they've got the bill for all the black curtains and tarp they'll need.

I’d say the fact no money for the masters has been paid out yet means the bdo won’t consider reducing the prize money when they can just get away with not paying it.

Masters money been paid.

Those Monday and Tuesday numbers are absolutely dreadful. Feel bad for the players playing to an empty hall. Anyone farts and the noise might disturb the players.
Schedule is out now, there’s no excuse now for the fanatics not to buy tickets, unless they are waiting till they are free.

I do wonder if the afternoon give away will be done again. Maybe some waiting to see what happens in the post Christmas sales!Addicks Fan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 12:26 pmIn the end they 'sold' over 13,000 last year, although that does include the afternoon county giveaways. going to struggle getting to 12,000 now I would think.

They should just drop the Monday to Thursday and just play first weekend and then Friday to Sunday.
At least with Lakeside you had some staying there all week getting sozzled. Moving to the O2 with no inclusive accommodation makes it a trek for everyone attending and who’s going to want to go to a week day afternoon in January. Most are skint after Christmas and do you want to waste your holiday allocation on this rubbish.
The PDC have the right idea. Do in the run up to Christmas so people in London take an afternoon off work to get pissed and start the Christmas party early.

Depends on the deal with the indigo. Was easy to do last year because of the relationship with the lakeside, if the indigo are taking a percentage of ticket sales then I can’t see them being too happy if des wants to give away a thousand tickets all of a sudden.
Re: BDO Worlds Tickets 2020
exactly, the usual trick from the Masters and WDT of giving tickets away to players/ opening the doors to let anyone in just wont wash at the Indigo.Zapp Brannigan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 2:07 pmdevosteve wrote:I do wonder if the afternoon give away will be done again. As a point of comparison....
2018 - 14140 tickets sold when they went on sale in August 2017
Are they really going to shift 10k more now? They have already had the initial sales flurry, and the flurry after the Order of Play came out. And they probably cant have mega giveaways for reasons already stated.
2019 - 12304 tickets sold (or given away) by the night before the first session, went on sale in October 2018Addicks Fan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 04, 2019 9:05 pm Ok, tickets sold (or seats filled!) this year compared with last - one thing to note is that there were 14 more seats available in the venue last year compared with this:

I'm sure the pricing in the evening must have something to do with it - I don't think the evening mark-up can be justified really. And that first Sunday is a shocker!

9% of tickets sold overall and only 2-3% for some sessions
Scarcely believable. They have to do something

Re: BDO Worlds Tickets 2020 "Explosion" and Extortion Watch
wow.
You can only think that Des's business case must have assumed selling about the same amount of tickets.
that business case is pretty fucked up now

Moving from a country club in leafy Surrey to an expensive venue in London not shifting as many tickets
Who would have thought?
