County darts works on the “if your face fits and you are mates with the selectors” selection criteria.
Some counties for sure, but not all.
Berkshire 18-18 Buckinghamshire, some good games and all my Wycombe team mates won
Heard quite a few of the Berks Men’s A will be lodging some sort of grievance with the selection process for the B side. For some inexplicable reason, people way down in the aves are being chosen over more deserving ppl and they are fed up with it
So if your face fits you are in
Load of old bollocks

Reading on fb about a lady making her county debut at 72 yrs of age. (Then someone said a guy made his debut at 75). Fair play to her. She seemed a nice lady who was chuffed with that.
But it did make me think: is it getting easier to be picked for county? ie fewer folks trying to get picked than in previous years?

And it always has been that way
I gave up trying to go down that route when I played every week because I had to sit and listen to a county player tell another player in the pub that the only way he could go play county was if he joined his team and started playing with him week in week out.
Looking at the squads now, bar the likes of Yorkshire it’s a case of if your about that weekend you can play
