World number one Michael van Gerwen, World Champion Peter Wright and history-maker Fallon Sherrock are among the eight PDC stars who will travel to Copenhagen for the 2020 Nordic Darts Masters in June.

The PDC's World Series of Darts will visit Scandinavia for the first time on June 12-13 for the inaugural Nordic Darts Masters - tickets are available now through Ticketmaster.

The 16-player tournament will see eight top PDC stars come up against eight players from the region across two days of top-class action.

Joining Van Gerwen, Wright and Sherrock in Denmark will be two-time World Youth Champion Dimitri Van den Bergh, whose ability to shine on the biggest stages in the sport has seen him twice reach the quarter-finals of the World Championship and the 2018 German Darts Masters final.

Reigning US Darts Masters champion Nathan Aspinall will be joined by six-time World Series event winner Gary Anderson, while world number three Gerwyn Price and former World Champion Rob Cross complete the line-up.

World Championship quarter-finalist Darius Labanauskas and new Tour Card Holder Daniel Larsson will headline the eight local talents.

The eight Nordic & Baltic Representatives will include four PDC Tour Card Holders, led by Lithuania's Labanauskas and Sweden's Larsson, who came through the PDC Qualifying School.

Finland's Marko Kantele and Latvia's Madars Razma will also compete, with the remaining four places to be split among three Danish players and one qualifier.

The PDC players will take on the eight Nordic and Baltic representatives in round one of the Nordic Darts Masters on Friday June 12.

The action on Saturday June 13 will be held across two sessions, with the quarter-finals in the afternoon, followed by the semi-finals and final in the evening.

The World Series of Darts, promoted by the Professional Darts Corporation, incorporates a series of worldwide tournaments throughout each year, allowing local prospects their chance to challenge the biggest names in darts, with further events in 2020 to be held in New York, Australia and New Zealand.

Copenhagen's arrival as a new destination on the World Series tour represents the great strides made by players in the Nordic and Baltic region over the past ten years, which has seen a number of players compete on the PDC tour.

Over 300,000 fans will attend PDC events annually, while the World Series has visited Dubai, Singapore, China and Japan since being introduced six years ago.

Tickets for the Nordic Darts Masters, which is being staged in conjunction with Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group), areavailable now through Ticketmaster.

Wollongong and Townsville will host PDC events for the first time in 2020 as top-class darts returns to Australia in August.

The World Series of Darts will return Down Under for a treble-header in August, with the NZ Darts Masters in Hamilton sandwiched between visits to two exciting new destinations in Australia.

The New South Wales Darts Masters will be held at the WIN Entertainment Centre in Wollongong on August 14-15 before the Queensland Darts Masters is held at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre on August 28-29.

Fans wishing to attend the events have the chance to sign up to the FREE Priority Registration Window for the first opportunity to purchase tickets.

The World Series of Darts' international tour will begin in June with tournaments in New York and Copenhagen, featuring the likes of World Champion Peter Wright, world number one Michael van Gerwen and global sensation Fallon Sherrock amongst eight PDC representatives.

Eight regional representatives will compete in each tournament - with last year having seen Australian ace Damon Heta take victory in the Brisbane Darts Masters.

Perth's Heta has since gone on to win a PDC Tour Card, securing a place on the professional circuit alongside fellow Australians Simon Whitlock and Kyle Anderson.

"We've travelled around Australia in recent years with the World Series of Darts and it's exciting for us to be visiting Wollongong and Townsville for the first time in 2020 to take these fantastic events to new audiences," said PDC Chief Executive Matthew Porter.

"Both are strong sporting areas and this is a great opportunity to see the world's top darts players live in high-profile international tournaments.

"After Damon Heta's amazing achievement winning in Brisbane last year, all eyes will be on the local stars from Australia and New Zealand to see who can grasp their opportunity to claim glory alongside the biggest names in darts."

Destination Wollongong's general manager Mark Sleigh said they were excited to welcome the World Series of Darts to Wollongong, adding to its ever-growing major events portfolio.

"The sport has a loyal following and we're looking forward to a lively crowd in the city, which will contribute to the visitor economy," said Sleigh. "Additionally, the international coverage gives us a chance to tell Wollongong's story and showcase our beaches, outdoor activities and small bar and café scene."

Fans wishing to attend the events have the chance to sign up to the FREE Priority Registration Window for the first opportunity to purchase tickets.

Tickets for both events will go on sale to fans who signed-up to the Priority Registration Window on Monday March 9 at 0900 (local time), before going on General Sale on Wednesday March 11 at 0900 (local time).

Woolongong and Townsville are rather odd choices.. No Melbourne or Brisbane... I'd have liked them to go back to Perth with Damon Heta and Kyle Anderson being from there but surprised at no Melbourne

I thought the Hisense Arena was a great choice of venue.

I suppose the PDC know what they’re doing, but they’re hardly population hotspots. Townsville is 1000km north of Brisbane if you can believe that...

Seems they have gone for smaller venues which presumably are paying the PDC a hosting fee to get them to go there.
As said the one in Wollongong is a strange choice although it has hosted women’s tennis and boxing plus has a resident basketball team.

Only seats max around 5,000 so isn’t that smaller than the big city venues they have previously used in Australia.

To me doesn’t sound a ringing endorsement that there is massive demand for these WSOD tickets in Australia.

what an entitled tosser - its costing wade more not being in them or the PL which he has won among a sack of other majors, not heard him moan

if he stopped choking like a throttled chicken every time he got on a major stage he might win something that could put him in the frame for the invos

what will cost him even more is having to take the kids and mrs to work with him, for three weeks to the other side of the world - try treating it more professionally maybe?

he couldn't even win a PC last year, Wade won 4 including a double header, Dolan, Ratajski and De Souza won a couple as did Duzza and even Harry Ward won one - both times Smith made the final he choked like the proverbial and got pumped by Wade

he's not even won a meat raffle for two years has he?
