BDO tournaments no longer recognised by WDF and BDO relegated to Associate Member

I got my info off here and decided to share on Facebook.

It's a real personal concern on mine as BDO darts in Russia is recognised due to being under the WDF umbrella. Remember Russia had darts as a guest sport in the Olympics under IOC.

If the BDO is not a member of the WDF then support for BDO events (not that there are many of course) will drain away. Most countries will not bother offering BDO points. It also enables the WDF to run their own majors and call them World without feeling guilt/allegiance to the BDO.

The BDO will be cast adrift. We talk a lot about the beginning of the end for the BDO, but this definitely is a mark in the ground.

This rumour is the wrong way round. The big new sponsors Des has got mean they dont need the WDF anymore and dont want them to continue to hold them back. Its the BDO that has given the WDF the boot.
