Riley's only mentions barring PDC Tour Card holders, which obviously makes sense.

Yes I think if you attended QS you couldn't play Rileys at one point but back then they could enter the 6 or 8 rounds to qualify on the OOM... now their only route is the Rileys so makes sense

Yeah it’s only card holders who are precluded from the Riley’s qualifiers.

Tried to get a quote for an apartment today and was told it’s completely sold out and the players championship final is also nearly sold out

I agree with thatoche balboa wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 8:36 pm Load of bollocks, If you been to Q School and failed then you should be banned from Riley's

I would agree if they still had the 6 or 8 UK Open qualifiers with a mini OOM that you could enter if you failed at QS... Ratajski won one of them just after failing at QS.. but they don't.. Everybody successful at QS goes straight to Minehead now so it's unfair to block the route for anybody else if you want a proper competition
Re: Ladbrokes 2020 UK Open 6-8 March Somerset
Don't agree with the not being allowed to enter Rileys if you were in Qschool.
Supposed to be an Open so players should be allowed to use any route.
Also will be a nightmare to administrate.

In fairness, don't think that many legitimate darts fans would disagree with you.
The Rileys Qualifiers are going to see some real decent players get through, and this will only strengthen the field at Minehead
Gone are the days when Speedy Hire employees and decidedly average players can rock up and participate in a PDC Major.

And these riley's qualifiers are often very poorly organised as it is.ChrisW wrote:Don't agree with the not being allowed to enter Rileys if you were in Qschool.

Mixed emotions about this, obviously the decidedly average players can do one, but there'll be a lot of known quantities in the field, even the 'amateur' qualifiers. Kind of a shame, the days where complete unknowns can rock up and cause shockwaves are coming to an end I feel. Still, there's plenty of potential for thrills and spills, last year's event was brilliantssjsa wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:31 pmIn fairness, don't think that many legitimate darts fans would disagree with you.

A certain Rob Cross did that not long ago.Mensur Suljovic Fan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:50 pmMixed emotions about this, obviously the decidedly average players can do one, but there'll be a lot of known quantities in the field, even the 'amateur' qualifiers. Even since then, a lot has changed, free entry, expansion of TV events, dropping the BDO ban on Q-Schoolers. If Cross were a few years younger, I'm sure he'd have given the PDC a go earlierDavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 11:21 pmA certain Rob Cross did that not long ago.Mensur Suljovic Fan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 22, 2020 10:50 pmMixed emotions about this, obviously the decidedly average players can do one, but there'll be a lot of known quantities in the field, even the 'amateur' qualifiers.
