Supposed to be an Open so players should be allowed to use any route.
Also will be a nightmare to administrate.
In fairness, don't think that many legitimate darts fans would disagree with you.

The Rileys Qualifiers are going to see some real decent players get through, and this will only strengthen the field at Minehead

Gone are the days when Speedy Hire employees and decidedly average players can rock up and participate in a PDC Major.
We'll always have the memories. And thousands of pounds in winnings.
Was the reason I joined double finish. I was happy with the £50 or so I won then I saw the thread on there about how much you all won

Some good players have come through the "amateur" qualifiets over the years... Scott Mitchell, Scott Waites, Glen Durrant, Robbie Green, Paul Hogan and many others...
Just because they didn't get a card shouldn't stop the likes of Scott Mitchell or Jim Williams or whoever from going to a Rileys.. Its their only open route now unlike in the past..

Paul Hogan and Alex Roy for a qualifiers spot.

Shame there arent 24 spots or so, should be only 4 youth spots and 4 challenge

I also think a slight format change is needed not playing 3 rounds in Friday afternoon play 2 then round 3 best of 11 in evening and last 64 best of 13

Don’t forget Rob Cross. Ok he was not known when he came through but look what he’s gone onto achieve!

Always find it funny how in the Riley’s qualifiers all players have to wear shoes and trousers following PDC rules but most of these are played on Winmau boards

Michael Burgoine vs Martin Lukeman in semi final in Victoria, the great county warrior from Hampshire in the other half but still to play his quarter final.

He can enter the other qualifiers can’t he?

God rest Alf Garnett and Prince Phil.

Yes.. and he says it was that run at the UK Open that convinced him to do the Challenge Tour, which you could do without QS back then... Then he got a card through Challenge Tour.

Been at a tournament in Wolverhampton today. Heard that there are already over 250 entries for the Wolverhampton qualifier next weekend. Going to be chaos!

Why not have 8 spots for Challenge tour players, the rest made up from Rileys qualifiers so we get genuine amateurs qualifying.
Thinking of one.
