Has he? I am very surprised. Thought it was the sort of thing he loved.

I dont know the specifics of the set up where this particular match is, but many county games have a full stage set up, with a referee/caller, multiple markers, maybe walk ons with music and an audience watching only your game on the stage.
Or 32 temporary darts stands in a leisure centre, closed to the public, with one volunteer marker, a handful of people, at best, watching your game(s) leant over a barrier.
Really not sure what you mean by "professional environment" tbh.

I think Gloucestershire pay their caller.

That’s good, not all counties pay.DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 6:11 pmI'm paid to call at county.spaceman70 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 3:57 pm£100 a day on the pro tour. Whereas county officials are volunteers.

Re: Players Championship Tour 2020
Mitchell is first reserve for the first 10 Pro tours I believe so he will probably play in 9 of them so missing one for a guaranteed fee in a decent exhibition makes sense to me..
I don't think there is many players if any that would play county instead of a pro tour though.. Look how many turned it down to go to QS.

Is Lyndon still the caller Bruce? I know he was talking of quitting. I assumed he wasn't paid, just did it because he likes doing it.
Being as we play on the same pub team, you'd think this is something I may be aware of, especially as we talk about County quite a lot.

I played Lyndon on his Gloucs debut! Got MOM against him but he was a decent player and nice bloke. Is he still struggling with the yips?Si Robin wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 8:28 pmIs Lyndon still the caller Bruce? I know he was talking of quitting. Afraid so. It’s a shame because he’s played some storming games this year only to be let down when going for a double. It’s actually painful to watch sometimes.Black Velvet wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 9:35 amI played Lyndon on his Gloucs debut! Got MOM against him but he was a decent player and nice bloke. Re: Players Championship Tour 2020
Pretty sure his first 3 darts on a county stage were a 180, he looked a really solid player. That's a shame.
Re: Players Championship Tour 2020
Seriously? They were volunteering at first, weren't they? Seeing as players don't have to pay the £200 a weekend to play on the Pro Tour these days, where are the PDC getting the money from to pay the markers that kind of money? Kinda wish I'd signed up now lol. I make fewer mistakes than Kerrie Crompton.spaceman70 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 3:57 pm£100 a day on the pro tour. OH and sorry for all these questions, but how many markers would the PDC use on an average weekend?
