Averaged a ton in 5 of 7 matches today.
Hit a 9 darter.
Beaten by a whisker in a superb final by great darts.
You may be getting some "Any luck?" posts.
Not a fan of MvG but he is far from finished. Delighted with the final result however.

Yes, completely finished.
Overall 93.4 today after a record 93.5 yesterday. Great weekend of darts and plenty of players building confidence ahead of the uk open.ssjsa wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 7:10 pm Ian White averaging higher over his 5 matches today, than Snakebite did over his 7 yesterday.
This standard is unbelievable, and after the record 47 ton plus averages yesterday, there were another 44 today. Simply staggering.

This must me a mistake, John.
Which is the real reason that MvG is not dominating as once he did.ssjsa wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 7:10 pm Ian White averaging higher over his 5 matches today, than Snakebite did over his 7 yesterday.

Which is why it was hilarious that Wazza claimed just the opposite.

His throw looks no different to that of a few years ago TBF.
The mental aspect of the game is huge. Many of these guys can throw high averages but more are doing it when it counts.DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 8:37 pmWhich is the real reason that MvG is not dominating as once he did.ssjsa wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 7:10 pm Ian White averaging higher over his 5 matches today, than Snakebite did over his 7 yesterday.

The fact is that several players have improved their A game to the point where they can turn him over.
It's producing these consistently high tournament averages on the Tour and means that he can't get away with a poor game in the latter stages.
Can only be good for darts. We certainly don't get the "same 8 players" in the quarters.
Not that we ever did.
The standard on the ProTour is undeniably as high as it's ever been, and that is why MvG hasn't won one this season. Yet. Just look at that last leg today. Sat on 36 after 12 darts and his opponent takes out 94 on an obscured bull.
The ProTour is tough as hell at the moment. Ask Ian White.
